Eagles in the spotlight

Post by geckophoto on Fri 10 Jul - 22:05:54

Just for fun!
The original file was very dull and almost deleted so i decided to give it a "make over" in Photoshop just playing around (don't ask me to reproduce the way i did it). Is this to much? Or do you prefer the original? Or shall i delete both? Shocked

And the original:

Rob,

Keep both! The original if you want to try something diferent to it and the edited picture as your 'make over' worked quite well!

I like the remake unless you were trying for a realistic look. Then I think the spotlight was a bit overdone.
But in both it looks like the background was "photoshopped" either in or out - just doesn't look natural. But the second is definitely (atleast to my eyes) an improvement.

Hi guys thank you for your comments!

The remake was just for fun and not to create a realistic look. The background on the original wasn't Photoshopped. The picture was made after sunset, there was quite some dust in the air and to bring in some extra light i used the speedlight 580EXII and a Better Beamer. The distance from camera to the birds was somewere in the region from 30 to 40 meters.
I wouldn't made the shot because of the conditions but a Kruger ranger asked me to do so to determine the birds because these Steppe Eagles are not that common in Kruger.

to Simon: ott = off the topic?

Sorry guys OTT is over the top. Paul is the winner with 100 points.
Strange didn't think about it but of course lots of the readers here are not English, just be grateful I don't use Cockney rhyming slang, "me old China's".
Very Happy

Rob,

Don't even try to understand it. A single word can cover a whole story, only known to the local neighborhood. Four streets further they might not even understand it. (Right, Simon?)

A bit like if in a couple of months Simon would give 'eagles' as comment to an eddited picture, we should all understand he means 'ott'. Very Happy

This is "great" Simon - now I not only have to learn to interpret my kid's text messages but it has invaded our friendly little community here as well!!! (I guess this is what they - meaning my son and daughter - mean by "getting with the times".)
