No need to be scared of the dark anymore!

http://www.nikonusa.com/Find-Your-Nikon/Product/Digital-SLR/25466/D3S.html

Again you got to love Nikon for pushing the envelope.

I don't see that more MP is the future but high ISO without noise is exciting me.

12MP is good enough for me as I don't print very much and when I do it's 30 inches max, which I have done with a 5MP camera and it was fine.

My D700 goes from 100iso to 25,600iso that's 9 stops now with the D3s they have added 2stops. ...

Thought you might be interested in the high ISO capabilities of the D700.

Below is a shot taken at night at 4,000iso IMHO on this camera the best compromise between speed and noise.

Its a bit soft my bad. but it has mostly dark/black areas that will show noise.

Tell me what you think and I will post the kicker!

Nikon have just come up with the craziest maybe best ever add-on for a P&S camera.

No great surprise Nikon added video *, dual memory card slots. I think its a bit faster, and has more FPS with the battery grip and upgrade battery. Nikon have also added some weight, brilliant! Just what you need a heavier camera.

Ohh its more expensive than the D300.

So not much to talk about there then, ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

On the up-side it should help reduce the price of D300 old stock, IMHO the best DX sensor camera around.

I have some friends dogs with me this week while they are on vacation, so its walks in the park 3x a day. Which is fun for the moment I am sure I will be fed-up with it soon. They are quite sweet little white west highland terriers I think I have posted a photo before of them.

I of course have been taking my camera, at the moment I am using the D70 with the kit lens that came with my D80 18-135mm, I am enjoying using this set-up the only downside is the lens is f3.5-5.6 which is a bit slow ...

I have been looking for a D70 for awhile now and picked one up on Saturday.

I had been looking on Ebay and they had been going for silly prices £200+ madness!

Luckily I was in a Camera shop as one came in and got it for £99 with a 1gb card, with a one month test.

The screen on the back is a bit tiny but all else is same as my D80.

Strangely if you look inside the camera the mirror is the same size as a full frame camera showing its roots as the film camera F80, this was changed on the ...

Nikon DSLRs first decade on Monday 15th June.

Nikon announced the D1 in 1999 It was the first all Nikon DSLR with a 2.7mp sensor and ran at 4fps.

Before this there were some Fuji Nikon joint DSLRs and some Kodak/Nikon DSLRs but the less said about them the better they were very costly and rare and only used by newspapers and magazines and had 1.3mp sensors or less.

The D1 was priced the same as a D3 today.

I wonder what the D6x in 2019 will look like. 2012 and the Olympics should see ...

I have put a few rolls of film through my FE and they have been great (I need to get a scanner) exposure is spot on and of course the pictures are sharp unless it is my fault.

I would put a roll of film in the camera and shoot it through quite quickly, as this is a camera I use just for the fun of shooting a bit of film. The last roll was in the camera for a long time and I shot quite slowly in bright light and the camera was on my shoulder instead of in my bag.

I think I posted about my SB-26 flashgun that I dropped on to a stone floor?

Well I smashed the foot of the gun and although all was working and it could be used with a pc-cord or with its inbuilt optical trigger, it wasn't going to be very useful as a on camera flash.

So I searched the internet and asked a few questions on the strobist forum, and found UScameras. They had the part for under $17 delivered to the UK so I put the order in on the 9th Feb.The parts arrived this morning and ...

I have just added a very battered F801s Nikon AF film camera from the late 80s to the D80 as an experiment to see if I can still shoot film.

If any of the Nikonists are thinking of getting a old film camera for a bit of fun then you should really look at the f801s or n8008 in America. It has all the bells and whistles and is tough enough to throw around and it takes AA batteries. mega plus point is nobody likes them as much as the very simular f90x so they are cheap cheap cheap. I got mine ...
