Taken at the Royal Academy of Arts, press lunch for the Anish Kapoor exhibition.

Great modren art and a first as the Academy has previously only had dead artists have such an exhibition.

Part of my camera phone set. Sonyericsson k750i

The great thing about a press launch is they let you clown around like this on the art works, where as this afternoon there will be guards stopping the public going so near.

yeah I wanted it over exposed.

This is a mirror box/block very cool ...

I hope you are not too horrified at the below portrait BTW it was hair and M/up's day off. LoL.

This was an exercise in flash photography.

First is a plan view of the lighting rig eg where the flash guns were set.

From Drop Box

ABC are the flash guns.

B was the fill. I used a hard fill so no filters to give a soft light but it had the power turned down and the zoom was set to 24mm on a stand at eye level.

C was the rim light to light the hair and give separation to the subject from the ...

Guys...my wife and I were last night at one of these unforgettable shows.....if I only were.....

I took with my E400 fitted with a 50mm f2.0 macro lens and at times I also fitted the 40 - 150mm kit lens. I adjusted the Kelvin white balance takeing pictures and checking the color on the camera screen until I were happy. In Photoshop I also adjusted the pics....

They were not edited with all power...I only edited the JPEG version of each picture...

I hope you enjoy them, on my Fotki ...

Portrait with the new bridge Fujifilm s100fs

[img][/img]When its time to take a picture of my grandchildren they like to play with me and sometimes it comes out funnny and interesting like with this one. Fujifilm is well known for its quality of colors that can simulate film such as Provia, Velvia, etc. The only modifications I did were level-contrast and blurring the background in CS3.

Warning: Extreme adjustments.

Hi,

I went into this photo with the thought of experimenting with colors and depth of tones. I wanted it to look colorful, yet harsh, at the same time. I also wanted to add some new steps in my usual workflow. So therefore I wasn’t going to hold myself back from using some extreme adjustments, even if this gave the image an “unrealistic” look. Normally my editing process is influenced by my mood and intuition. So here’s my mood today:

Swiss Soldier

This young man is my father as a Swiss army soldier.

I shoot this portrait from an old picture with my G7. I did quite some editing in PSE6 to it: levels, unsharpening, dodging and burning (à la Simon) plus a photo filter at the end.

Thanks god, my father was never involved in a real war.

Best.. Pius
