Since going digital and thereby churning out masses of images, I have really enjoyed assembling them into photojournals for each of my trips. I don't know whether anyone on the forum has tried the various offerings, but MyPublisher.com gives an excellent range of layouts and final printed books. If interested, here's one I just finished, which is something a bit different for Forum members shooting chalets and alps:

Challenge of the month April 2009

Hi All

Phil asked me to appoint someone else to describe the April 2009 challenge of the month....

I could not think of anybody I know well enough to just go and ask.. ...so decided to do this difficult task myself.

Recently I have been fascinated with 3D....or better said 2D images. Assume you have a table with chairs and by taking the picture in such a way as to create depth in your picture to create the feel for placing the objects so that it looks real or 2D....

As promised, changing from weekend challenge to month challenge, giving everyone more time to go out and create the pictures they have in mind.

This first month challenge is about: Glass

Glass is the most important material for us photographers, the invention of glass has brought us lenses, through these lenses we are able to express ourselves.

This idea came up while scrolling through some pictures i made in Northern France visiting a glass museum and a glass factory.

Hi There!

First of all: Happy New Year!!! (Hope you all survived the last hours of 2008 )

This challenge is not about a subject most photographers worries about (at least as one reads the forums ) "is this, my picture sharp?. No, this challenge is about "sharp" subjects, shapes, lines etc. making up for the main composition of your picture. Think of sharp lines of buildings, scharp points of fences, broken glass, thorny plants etc.

One example from my side:

This weekend challenge should be another in-house picture challenge. The picture should include something green (plant, trees, Christmas tree etc.). It can obviously include flowers, ornaments or what ever, let's be creative.

This should give all of us, weather independent, something to shoot.

Happy Holidays and have fun shooting!

Because I announced the challenge a little late I like to propose we let it run until Tuesday evening.

The picture should be in-house and the challenge is to get a picture of a water drop hitting the water. You can use a water tap to control the water falling into a bucket or what ever you think good.

Be creative, use light, color, software....have fun...

Hello Folks

I like to start with a picture challenge series. Anyone can call or start a challenge. The challenge can be a picture, an editing challenge, you can ask a question, basically anything related to photography. I will enable the poling function on the site so we can use it and we can use it to vote for the best challenge, the best result and so on....

I do not want to set rules, I like us to develop them as we grow.....For example we can also vote for the biggest flop....or ...
