Dear Forum Members,
I have not been here for nearly 10 Months. Please pardon me, if I ask something stupid.

There seem to come up rumors about a new Powershot G11 (Google).

Does anyone of you know something about this Cam and the improvements in comparison
with the G7 i still like very much ?

Best regards

Have a quick look at the top plate of the Leica X1, this is what I am talking about, now if the other camera makers could copy this for their top end compact cams I would be happy. http://www.dpreview.com/news/0909/09090908leicax1.asp

As you will see and as I explained in one of my other posts, a couple of old school dials is what is needed even with the playstation screens and thumbwheels we get on the far eastern cams. The top plate is the place to put them!

BTW, this is the bag I keep the gear in, so its not my day bag that's a Lowepro slingshot 200. LowePro make the best bags IMHO.

I only take two lenses when I go out I try not to take too much gear as I think it just slows me down. Swapping lenses ...

Best camera ever,

What camera is the greatest ever? Have you owned one? Or was it just something you dreamed of owning.

I have always wanted a Nikon F3HP (I wear glasses) this was my dream camera when I was twenty (1980).

However I don't think its the greatest camera ever, this honour for me goes to the Olympus OM1 the first pro SLR that was small and light enough to carry around all day if you were not a professional and just wanted to take better photos.

Olympus went on to make it even ...

I was looking for a very small camera to carry with me all the time.

I bought the olympus fe-320 as it was chep at amazon for only 95 instead of 199 EUR.

I noticed that the fotos look almost like handy-cam fotos. Only sharp in the center, really unsharp at the outside of the center. The workmanship of the cam was very good but how can a brand like olympus produce such bad image quality ? Have returned it today, Does anyone know a small cam producing good fotos... Have heard, the Fujis produce ...

This is interesting, very low res at the moment. But make this http://technology.newscientist.com/article/dn14477

in to a FX sensor at 25mp.

lenses for this type of sensor become cheaper and easier to make and a lot sharper edge to edge, than the flat sensors of today.

But you would have to have a electronic viewfinder, so on a compact or micro 4/3s camera great, on a conventional DSLR the optical viewfinder would have to be corrected some how, to allow for the new style lenses this sensor ...

Nikon have added a movie mode to their latest DSLR the D90.

I guess you know that I will think that this is a great feature as I shoot video at work, so this would be good for me.

But if you look at Olympus' Micro Four Thirds system, coming soon, I would suggest that it is very much set-up for video, so the industry is going this way, offering the features that newbies had on their compacts.

Live View was of course the start of this, I have lost count of the friends that pick up ...
