The Greatest landscape shot of all time.

Post by Simon.fairclough on Thu 16 Jul - 11:38:05

I thought I would post this shot and I hope NASA won't mind.
I was a small child when this shot was taken and I can just remember the excitement surrounding the Moon missions.
Forty years have passed since we went to the Moon, I hope we will go again in my lifetime.
Anyway Thank you USA your tax dollars were not wasted.
EARTHRISE 1/250 at f11

Taken by astronaut William Anders on Apollo 8
This is how it went.........
Borman: Oh my God! Look at that picture over there! Here's the Earth coming up. Wow, is that pretty.
Anders: Hey, don't take that, it's not scheduled.
Borman: (laughing) You got a color film, Jim?
Anders: Hand me that roll of color quick, will you...

Just remember while America was embarking on this epic undertaking, Britain gave the world the Mini-skirt, fair exchange I think? Very Happy
