Pls help me re-design the forum....
Hello folks
I have been spending time researching different options with regards forum, blogs, public meeting rooms, facebook and many more. At the end the current service I use seems to be amongts the best out there and I will continue with them unless somebody can show me a better service...
That said I also considered starting a complete new forum and in the process give up the history we created....
Again not a good idea. That means I like to take the existing and re-design that into a future forum. What should the menu's look like is a open question. I like to invite you to add your ideas to this post, what you think will work well, complex, simple, many menus or only a few...what should they be?
What do we do with the old data, do we put in under one menu or do we include them into the new structure....?
Go from the stand that you have a free hand, you can design the forum from a clean sheet.
I will really appreciate your help. In fact I am happy to implement the forum structure we design here in this post.....

Re: Pls help me re-design the forum....
Just a couple of thoughts:
Obviously, I can't speak for anyone else, but I think the present forum menu leads to threads just getting buried under the latest posts. I would like to see a listing of forum topics and following that header separate posts (visible without having to click on the specific forum title). That way threads might have more reponse and live longer (if that's a good thing).
Old data--how about an archive section? Is that possible?
Phil

What I meant to ask is that what are the possibilities for this kind of change using the current service. I hope I didn't come across as being pushy.

Hi Phil
Thanks for your kind feedback and taking the time to do it. I agree we should have a menu system that is easy to access, relevant and one should be able to see current discussions.
Good news is its all possible, its just a matter of configuring the forum.
What we can do is to start listing menu's so that we can start filtering it into a representative and simple menu.
OK guys whats next?
