Best refs for learning photojournalism (Have G7)

Post by josieann on Tue 11 Nov - 6:18:59

I want to get better at photgraphing people, e.g. those I see when traveling. With my G7 in my purse, I'm always ready to shoot and get some good results, but are there good references or books that would help me improve?

The Photographer's Eye: Composition and Design for Better Digital Photos by Micheal Freeman

maybe not the right answer for you but this seems to be one of the best books about composition. I did order this book and I think to have it in my hands the end of this week.
You can have a look at the index also on the folowing link.

Beyond Portraiture: Creative People Photography (Paperback)

by Bryan Peterson

Its all in this book.
IMHO
I like to have one of my custom settings on manual focus set to around 7foot and program mode and flash off for candids.

My book from Michael Freeman arived today and it looks nice all about composition, so I'm happy but it is not particulary about photographing people and the the book, witch I don't now, from Peterson witch Simon recomended could be a better choise for you.
