Duck Duck Goose

Post by schwert on Fri 24 Apr - 22:22:30

Out on our weekend walks we have been watching a goose on her nest near a small pond.

We were watching her for a few minutes when all of a sudden two duck heads popped up out of the grass.

They have built their nests within a few feet of each other.

The ducks disappeared in the grass so I got myself setup, G9 braced on the fence, 24x digital zoom, high ISO, then pulled out my duck call and blew a couple of soft "quacks".

The duck heads lifted right up.

I was able to keep their attention with a few quacks from my call. At this zoom I was a bit surprised to get one decent shot.

Hello Schwert

Interesting way of setting up your picture......picture somebody making familiar sounds in a citty street to set up the right seen...lol

I am also surprised at how well the G9 coped with that scene. Would be interesting to see what something like Neat will do to the picture.

Thanks for posting

Siegfried
