Sammamish Slough Fall Color
Fall in Seattle is a wealth of color….mostly yellows browns and some reds contrasting with wide expanses of greens from conifers and shrubs. We do not have the expansive hardwood forests of the Eastern Coast of the United States, but the mixture of Alder, Big Leaf Maple and Vine Maple with Cedar and Fir makes for a visual treat.
This is once again the Sammamish Slough just a few miles from my home. Open cloud cover at sunset, with their red/orange reflections are mixed with the leaves flowing downstream in the current . The trees along the bank nearly devoid of leaves reflecting in the moving but unruffled waters caught my eye.

Just up trail, the path a carpet of Big Leaf Maple leaves….a wet leaf carpet.

Both from my G9.

Hi schwert,
Beautiful! The picture of the slough is really an impressive one! The "little" Canons are doing a marvelous job, at least at 100 ISO. In my opinion they are the modern "Leicas". Good to have one.
Best wishes to US

Here are a couple more from the Sammamish Slough. Last weekend we walked over the bridge just as the sun was lighting the sky with this amazing red-orange. I got about 4 shots before this faded by about half.
The duck was cruising so fast I could not get him all that clear but his ripples seemed to add to the shot.
